Romanian Interior Min Says President Uses Secret Services For Political Purposes

Romania’s interior minister Cristian David said Wednesday that there is bonding between Romania’s intelligence services and President Traian Basescu, who uses information from the services for his own political purposes.

"There are undoubtedly close ties between intelligence services and the president, who is very good at exploiting politically the information that secret services offer him. This would explain many of the accusations the president makes, as he obviously makes them counting on more information than is available to the legal system or public opinion," David said.
 
David added that a political interference of secret services would seriously affect the country’s legal system.
