Basescu deemed Komorowski’s future visit to Bucharest very important and stressed he hopes the strategic accord between Romania and Poland, agreed upon during the mandate of late Polish President Lech Kaczynski, will strengthen the bilateral ties inside the European Union.

The meeting between Basescu and Sikorski was also attended by Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi and Poland’s ambassador to Bucharest, Wojciech Zajaczkowski.

Sikorski said the joint strategy between Romania and Poland is almost ready and shall be jointly adopted either at the meeting of the Romanian and Polish prime ministers or at the meeting between Basescu and Komorowski.
