Romania’s Administrative Reform Compatible With Europe 2020 – Romanian EU Commissioner

The economic reform of Romania’s administrative system is compatible with the outlook of Europe 2020 and would reaffirm the country’s participation to European social and economic development, Romania's EU Commissioner For Agriculture Dacian Ciolos said Friday.

The Romanian EU Commissioner added that the economic reform of several key sectors, which would help relaunch the economy, has been discussed for several years now.

According to Ciolos, this reform might turn out to be „the most palpable element of Romania’s presence as a EU member”.

The reform would involve a partnership between Government, national and regional administration. Also, steady economic growth requires agricultural reform, said Ciolos.

Europe 2020 is a ten-year strategy for reviving the European economy through greater coordination of national and European policies. The proposal was presented by the European Commission on March 3, 2010.
