Rompetrol Group Pres Founds Oil Co, Buys Eurojet, FinGroup From Rompetrol – Sources
Romanian oil tycoon Dinu Patriciu, president of Romanian oil company Rompetrol Group, will establish in August a new company operating in oil sector and will buy airliner Eurojet and non-banking financial institution IFN FinGroup Credit from Rompetrol, sources close to the matter said Tuesday.
Patriciu said there is no clear decision in this respect so far, adding that Rompetrol board of directors considers outsourcing certain auxiliary activities.
Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGaz bought last year a 75% stake in Rompetrol and can opt by August to buy the remaining 25% stake in the company.
The Rompetrol Group operates in 13 countries and employs over 8,000 people. Its main assets are located in Romania, France and southeastern Europe.
