Social Democrats Claim Hungarian Party Pays Voters In Mures, C Romania

The social democrat and conservative alliance notified the local election office in Mures county, central Romania, claiming representatives of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) give money to voters in the constituency where party president Marko Bela is running.

According to the notice, signed by the president of the county branch of the Social Democratic Party, Alexandru Petru Fratean, UDMR members offer voters 100 lei to vote for their candidates and another 100 lei to get others to vote. 
 
Marko Bela’s cabinet chief denied any wrongdoing.
 
Marko is running for a senator seat in a constituency that includes localities near Targu Mures, while Kelemen Attila, head of the Hungarian party’s local branch in Mures, is running for a deputy seat in the same constituency.
