The Court decided unanimously the law amending Law no. 188/1999 on the statute of public servants, drafted by 81 deputies, is unconstitutional because it didn’t observe the principle of the country’s two-chamber Parliament.

The draft law adopted by the Chamber of Deputies as decisional chamber is significantly different from the form adopted by the Senate.

The Court’s decision is final and binding and is notified to the president of Romania, the prime minister and the speakers of the two chambers of Parliament.
