Officials from the local subsidiary, Xella Ro, estimate the unit will sell some 285,000 cubic meters of autoclaved cellular concrete (ACC). This would translate to a market share of 13% on the ACC segment and 7% on the masonry segment.

The plant was built in 12 months.

In parallel with the local production, the company will also import products from Hungary and Bulgaria.

Xella Ro has doubled its sales staff this year. The company has 14 sales representatives and over 80 partnering distributors.

The Xella group, owned by private equity firms PAI Partners and Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, reported sales of EUR1.2 billion last year.
