Two foreign flag vessels collided on Thursday night in Constanta harbor. However, no human lives were lost and the material damages are minor ones.

The manager of the Constanta harbor authorities, Alexandru Mezei, said the incident took place around 22.15 local time, while the “Royal Reefer” vessel, loaded with bananas, was trying to dock. Following a wrong turn made by the captain, the vessel collided with Dutch vessel “Castor.”
Following the impact, four containers on Castor ship suffered damages and the stern of the Royal Reefer was slightly damaged.
The research department within the Constanta harbor authority investigates the incident. The captain of the Royal Reefer, guilty for the collision, was fined RON2,000.
