The Romanian nationals who are already in Kenya are advised to avoid conflict and crowded areas in the big cities, the ministry said.

The ministry said it has not received any reports regarding Romanian casualties during the conflicts in Kenya, mentioning however that people with relatives in the country may address to the Romanian embassy in Nairobi for further information.

The death toll in the Kenyan conflicts following the presidential elections on December 27 passed 300. Acting President Mwai Kibaki won the elections, which are disputed by the opposition.
