Boc said Romania’s option for the agriculture portfolio was presented to the European Commission in January.
Romanian minister of foreign affairs Cristian Diaconescu said Monday at the hearing within the reunited commissions of foreign policies, the evaluations show there are chances the future Romanian commissioner in the European Commission will obtain a “more significant” portfolio than the current one.
According to Diaconescu, the list of commissioner proposals will be approved with majority of votes by the European Council and the president of the European Commission.
The name of former agriculture minister Dacian Ciolos – current head of the presidential committee on agriculture – has been intensely circulated by media in connection with the country’s choice for EU commissioner.
