According to a Health Ministry press release, 40 cases of infection with the AH1N1 virus were detected in Hotel Sinaia in Prahova County. The hotel will be closed for 48 hours, starting Sunday evening, for disinfection.
All of the 40 tourists have been admitted to the "Matei Bals" Institute in Bucharest, with medium and severe AH1N1 flu symptoms. The disease was transmitted by a tourist from Portugal, according to state secretary Adrian Streinu-Cercel.
The other tourists who were staying in the hotel and did not have signs of infection have left, but are being watched by the health authorities of their home towns, Streinu-Cercel said.
Health authorities have begun the epidemiological investigation in order to track down everyone who has come into contact with the people infected, the cited source said.
