Local authorities in Sinaia said the slopes Carp, Papagal, Drum de Vara and Tarle have been closed because avalanche risks are rated five on a scale of one to five.
Tourists are advised not to climb the mountain unless properly equipped. Over the past week, mountain rescuers intervened in two cases where tourists were caught in avalanches.
Five tourists were caught in an avalanche Tuesday. Two managed to save themselves and the other three were brought safely off the mountain by rescue teams. Last weekend, a woman died in an avalanche.
