Earlier in the day, finance minister Varujan Vosganian said Tariceanu might propose a new interim for justice minister Friday. The Justice Ministry is currently run by interim Teodor Melescanu, who is also acting defense minister.

Contacted by MEDIAFAX, government spokesperson Camelia Spataru said Melescanu’s interim term ends Monday, March 3, according to common law norms in the Civil Procedure Code.

Liberal sources told MEDIAFAX Wednesday Tariceanu would propose Melescanu for a new interim term.
