Arad police officers said the bus stopped to refuel and the passengers were immediately approached by a group of shell game players.
"The guide warned passengers not to play, as they would loose, as many other tourists were conned, when three or four members of the group angrily attacked the passengers. One of them pulled out a rubber ball gun and shot the guide in the shoulder. He refused to press charges," said Aarad police spokeswoman Camelia Tuduce.
All passengers were heard Sunday night and police are now trying to identify the attackers, who only risk a fine since no charges were pressed against them. Moreover, the gun used does not require a permit.
