Pedestrians had a rough time as well, having to walk through at least half a meter high layer of snow.

Over one hundred traffic police officers are dispatched mainly at crossroads and snow ploughs barely manage to clear the roads, as they were brought in only this morning and it is still snowing.

Some of the capital’s traffic light systems are broken, which render traffic even more difficult.

Public transportation is almost numb and the subway is the only reasonable solution for people who need to get to work.

Access to the A2 highway linking Bucharest to the southeastern city of Constanta is banned, and traffic is also blocked on six national roads.

Air traffic is also rendered very difficult, with delays of up to seven hours.
