According to the spokesperson for the Dobrogea Seaside Waters Adminsitration, Catalin Anton, throughout the May 1 mini-vacation, 40 employees of the institution cleaned the beaches every morning, so the cleaning operation has already ended. Thus, in the three days of mini-vacation there were 75 tons of waste collected from the beaches. Most of the waste, namely 45 tons of garbage, were collected in the Eforie – Costinesti area.

Even though the number of tourists was higher compared to the previous year, the quantity of waste decreased by some 30%.
