General Prosecutor: DNA To Handle Tel Drum EU Funds Embezzlement Case

DNA interim chief Calin Nistor recently announced that he notified the general prosecutor to decide competency for prosecution in the case, after the special section formulated several requests to take it over for suspected offences involving magistrates.

Social Democrat Party and Lower Chamber Chairman Liviu Dragnea is investigated in the case for establishing an organized crime group, abuse of office and EU funds embezzlement, as prosecutors suspect him of favoring Teleorman county infrastructure company Tel Drum in granting public contracts during the time he served as the county’s council chairman.
