Former Romanian PM Finds Running For President ‘Only Natural’

In a press conference in the northwestern town of Zalau, Tariceanu stated that both he and the Liberal Party came out victorious from every clash with acting president Basescu. The former prime minister stated that, before he is to run for president of the country, he must first win the seat of party president where he competes against party vice-president Crin Antonescu.
 
Calin Popescu Tariceanu is currently on a tour of Transylvania. On Saturday, in Brasov, he said Romanians need a president who will bring them closer together and that he is up for the job.
