Germany’s Siemens Eyes Two-Digit Growth In Romania In ’09
The group reported a EUR321 million turnover in Romania last year, out of which EUR70 million in the electric power sector.
Siemens will connect the future electric power plant of Romania’s largest oil company Petrom to the country’s electric power system, in an over EUR6.5 million deal.
The group could also collaborate with the Romanian refineries Arpechim and Steaua Romana, and already has received orders for the next two years and a half in the country, thus not being affected by a lower demand.
Siemens group has been operating in Romania since 1905, in the transports, energy, automation, medical technique, and communications field.
The company’s representatives said that the Romanian market has many investment opportunities.
The group has three regional oil and gas centers, out of which one in Romania.
Siemens operates in three sectors, namely infrastructure, health and energy, and forecasts its turnover will continue to grow.
