“Renault plans to start building a new version of the Logan car at its Avtoframos plant in Moscow some time in late 2009 or early 2010,” just-auto.com quoted Antoine Zeiger, the logistics project manager of Renault Russia, as saying at an industry conference Friday.
Dacia officials on Monday confirmed the information and said production on the Russian market is scheduled to start in two years.
The car models Renault and Dacia manufactured based on the Logan (B0) platform are Logan Sedan, Logan MCV, Logan VAN, Logan Pick-Up and the new Sandero, whose production will start in May.
Logan is traded both under Renault’ and Dacia’s brand. Logan sales reached 367,745 units worldwide in 2007, up over 48% on the year.
