Romanian Mins Give Up One Fifth Of Pay Until Yearend

Romanian ministers signed a self-statement giving up 20% of their monthly salaries, until the end of the year, resulting in an overall saving of RON95,000, according to government spokesperson Ioana Muntean.

By the 20% reduction in the net salary, the government saves a monthly RON24,000.
 
The prime minister and deputy prime minister will each give up some RON1,200 monthly, while ministers will give up some RON1,100. The RON1,100 monthly decrease will also be operated for the secretary general of the government and the head of the Department for European Affairs, both having ranks of minister.
 
The funds saved will go to the state budget.
