Government Sets March 28 Deadline For European Election Candidacies
Romania’s Government passed on Friday a general framework and timetable for this year’s European Parliament elections, setting a March 28 deadline for filing candidacies.

According to Government spokesman Nelu Barbu, May 26 was confirmed as the final date for the elections in Romania, with candidacies to be accepted up to 60 days prior to election, on March 28.
The spokesman also confirmed that the electronic vote monitoring system, last used at the 2016 parliamentary elections, will be used for the ballot.
Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry will be required to announce the official list of voting sections abroad at least 30 days before the election.
