Government to Repeal Part of Controversial Tax Bill
Romania's liberal government will fast-track a bill to repeal several provisions of a controversial tax bill adopted by the previous social-democrat government, prime minister Ludovic Orban said Monday.

Orban said changes target the over-taxation of the banking system and the energy sector, while provisions regarding the construction sector would remain untouched.
“We will repeal or amend most provisions of the infamous tax decree 114. Our goal is to repeal the extra tax on the energy sector,” said Orban.
He added the government plans to repeal additional taxes in the banking and telecom sectors and to wipe out the Sovereign Investment Fund.
