Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu went on an official visit in Great Britain to try and negotiate the faith of Romania citizens who wish to live and work in this country.

However, British authorities made it clear that restrictions imposed by London authorities will be maintained.

Tariceanu met on Wednesday with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at the letter’s residence on Downing Street 10. After a meeting that took approximately 45 minutes Brown told Tariceanu that “the measures imposed by London for Romania and Bulgaria observe European laws.”

The Government in London announced at the end of October its intention to extend at least until the end of 2008, the restrictions imposed on Romanian and Bulgarian citizens who wish to work in the country.
