Romanian Low-Cost Airliner Blue Air Goes International

Romanian low-cost airliner Blue Air will launch its first international flight in October, on the Brussels-London route, the airliner said in a statement Wednesday.

Blue Air will operate two flights weekly on the Brussels-London route and back starting with October 26.

“With the new route, Blue Air consolidates its position on the European market, by offering an efficient solution for the Bucharest-Brussels-London route. In addition, the flight aims to offer a wider range of services to passengers. Thus, they will be able to choose between flights on the routes Bucharest-Brussels, Bucharest-London or Brussels-London and back,” the statement noted.

Blue Air reported first half-year turnover of 175.1 million lei (EUR1=RON3.5974), up 33% on the year.

The airliner transported 425,000 passengers in the mentioned interval, up 21.5% compared to the similar period of 2007.
