Romanian Supreme Court Decides Retrial For „Cocaine For VIPs” Case

Romania’s Supreme court decided Wednesday to send back to the Court of Appeals for a retrial the file “Cocaine for VIPs”, which involves Ion Alexandru Tiriac, son of businessman Ion Tiriac, who had been cleared of all charges in February.

The court admitted the prosecutors’ appeal against the decision clearing Tiriac of all charges, namely consumption, dealing and possession of drugs.
 
The Supreme Court’s decision is final.
 
Tiriac was heard by the High Court of Justice last week and said he never took drugs. He also said drugs were never consumed in any of his residences, with or without his knowledge.
