Popa said the two parties completed talks on all the articles in the agreement and the act is expected to be signed Thursday after social democrats approve it in their executive committee meeting Wednesday evening.
Popa added the protocol stipulates a political alliance between the two parties and, unlike the deal in 2004, the alliance would be registered in court and would remain effective after legislative elections in November.
Popa didn’t give details on the leading structures of the future alliance, and said negotiations were not about seats in Parliament but more about “principles and programs”.
