Romania’s Consul To Chisinau Resigns Amid Sex Scandal

Romania’s consul to Chisinau, Ion Nuica, resigned Monday after “Curentul” daily posted on its website several photos and footage showing Nuica having intercourse with a woman who “seems” to be an employee with the Romanian consulate in Chisinau.

"Romania’s consul general to Chisinau was summoned to Romania last week and today (Monday, e.n.) he submitted his resignation first thing in the morning," Romania’s Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Alin Serbanescu, told MEDIAFAX, following questions with respect to the photos and footage posted on the respective website.
 
Serbanescu stressed, however, that Nuica was summoned to Romania last week for reasons unrelated to the respective images.
 
"Curentul" informed Monday on its website that it received a hidden camera footage which portrays Nuica having intercourse with a "Moldovan woman, not a Moldavian woman from Tecuci." The article says the woman in the respective photos "seems to be an employee with the Romanian consulate in Chisinau."
 
The same article says the footage also portrays the two "discussing business issues, but not national security issues, only matters that concern" the respective woman.
