Negut quit his position due to personal problems.

He led the Control Authority within Romania’s Government since January 2005, as state secretary under the minister appointed for the control authority, Cristian David.

Following the reorganization of the Government and the appointment of David as interior minister, Tariceanu decided to appoint Negut as head of the institution, which was restructured as the Control Department of the Government.
