The flights that should have arrived from Milan, Budapest and Chisinau were canceled from the same reasons.
Six low cost flights were redirected on Friday and another one on Saturday on Henri Coanda Airport, because the unit is equipped with signaling installation that allows airplanes to ground in bad weather conditions, said Valentin Iordache, marketing manager of the airport.
Stefan Mladin, manager of the Baneasa airport said that on Saturday by 10:00 local hour two arrivals and three departures were redirected towards Otopeni Airport.
“These are standard procedures in heavy fog conditions,” Mladin said.
Low cost companies do not see fit to be redirected on Henri Coanda airport as they need to pay higher fees, and thus they prefer to postpone their flights.
