Romania 7-Mo Car Production Hit 219,656 Units

Romania’s Automobile Dacia, owned by French Renault, produced 215,463 cars in the first seven months of the year and Ford Romania produced 4,178 units in the same interval, according to data released by Romania’s Association of Carmakers and Importers APIA.

Also taking into account the 15 trucks produced by Roman Brasov, the national car production stood at 219,656 units in the aforementioned interval, up 24.7% on the year.

Of the total number of vehicles produced by Dacia, 10,991 are commercial cars. Ford produced only commercial vehicles, namely the Transit Connect.

Of the total car production, 194,523 units (89%) were exported. Of them, 190,329 units were Dacia cars and 4,178 were vehicles produced by Ford Romania.

Roman Brasov exported all the trucks produced in the first seven months of 2010.
