„We have not talked about any taxes. There is taxation in agriculture, there is the VAT. I do not intend to introduce any new tax. However, farmlands need to be taxed in accordance with value. We have many unregistered farms, as well as unregistered workers,” Vladescu said in the debates on the 2010 state budget, held by the reunited Parliament budget-finance committees.

He added the issue in agriculture is not with the level of taxes applied but with their collection.

The minister also said agriculture remains a priority in Romania but greater efficiency is needed to increase budget revenues on this segment.
