Traffic at the Iasi Airport was restarted on Friday afternoon, after it had been stopped in the morning due to poor weather conditions. However, some flights towards Italy were cancelled due to an airport strike in the country.

Iasi Airport Reopens Air Traffic After Temporary Closure Due To Snowstorm

Representatives of the airport announced that the suspension caused several delays, while some flights announced for the day were rescheduled.

“Air traffic activity was restarted once the weather improved, but there will be delays because some flights announced during the day were rescheduled. Also, Wizz Air flights from and to Italy have been cancelled due to an airport strike in the area,” the airport representatives announced.

In total, two flights from the company were cancelled and two other were postponed.

Seven counties in the Moldova region, including Iasi, were under the effect of a code yellow warning for heavy snowfall and snowstorms until noon on Friday.
