Public Health Institute: The number of new cases of COVID-19 decreasing compared to last week

INSP shows, in the weekly report, that the number of new cases has decreased by 10,5% in the last seven days, and 42% of the total active cases are in Suceava, Bucharest, Hunedoara, Arad and Mures.

The most confirmed cases are in Suceava: 18,5%, Bucharest – 8,5%, Hunedoara – 5,2%, Arad – 5,1%, Mureş – 4,6%, and 58% are in other counties.

In the same counties there are 52,5% of deaths. Most are in Suceava – 20,6%, Hunedoara – 9,8%, Arad – 8,6%, Bucharest – 8,6%, Mureş – 4,9%, and 47,5% in other counties.

The report also shows that one in seven new cases was registered with a medical professional.

Regarding the deaths, 71,6% were registered in persons over 60 years, and 64,3% of the deaths were for men.

Also, INSP shows that 84,5% of people infected with the new coronavirus, who died, also had other serious chronic diseases.
