Romanians Highly Interested In EP Elections – EU Poll

Romanians are among European citizens most interested in the 4-7 June European elections, according to a TNS Opinion survey commissioned by the European Parliament.

The poll shows 30% of Romanians are certain to vote, while 6% seem certain not to vote.
 
In the EU block, the turnout estimate is of 49%, up from 34% in a previous poll in the early months of 2009.
 
Romanian citizens are seen to vote their Euro-deputies based on the internal experience of the candidates, as the poll showed 43% pay particular attention to this criterion.
 
In addition, 50% of the Romanian respondents are expected to vote based on the candidate’s expressed position regarding national matters.
