Romanian Social Democrats Ask Pres To Clarify Involvement Military Contracts

Duvaz said that, since the president’s and the president’s brother’s names are involved in state military purchase operations, the head of state still has to explain his brother’s association in potential contracts signed with the state.

"The moment when this company surfaces and especially the activity area, namely arms purchases to be unfolded by the state, raise a lot of questions. There are still questions that need answers from the president’s brother, but especially from president Traian Basescu," Duvaz said.

He added the Ministry of National Defense needs to clarify if and in what way Mircea Basescu’s company and the name of the head of state have been involved in procurement contracts signed with the state.
