„Today I spoke with the president of the European Socialists, Sergei Stanishev, about the coordination of our European political family amid the situation in Ukraine, the wave of refugees and the economic and social consequences for our citizens. In this context, one of the joint actions must be in the direction of requesting financial support from the EU for Romania and the other member states now in the front line”, says Marcel Ciolacu.

He says a new resilience mechanism is needed to compensate for the losses suffered by member states as a result of sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as the energy crisis.

„PSD will continue to actively promote these goals at European level, through its MEPs and through its European political family, so that the effective management of the refugee crisis is done at the same time as accessing a solid financial package to compensate for economic losses, especially in the energy field”, concludes Ciolacu.
