Total loans, in both leu and foreign currency were up 5.7% in September to RON195.157 billion, while total unpaid loans rose by 12% to RON2.15 billion, from RON1.92 billion.
In lei, loans totaled RON85.547 billion at the end of September, up 2.14% compared with August, while unpaid loans in lei reached RON1.553 billion.
Foreign currency loans totaled RON109.699 billion at the end of September, of which 0.54%, or RON600 million represented unpaid loans.
According to the central bank, most of the loans in lei were made by companies, while the majority of loans in foreign currency have been made by population.
Most of the loans in local currency were granted to companies, namely RON42.344 billion while loans given to population stod at RON41.016 billion.
More than half of the total loans were granted to population, namely RON55.3 billion, while companies received RON51.74 billion worth of loans in foreign currency.
