The president of the democratic liberal party, Emil Boc told MEDIAFAX that, from a professional point of view, there can be no reproach brought to Predoiu and he hopes that Predoiu will "not confirm his links to businessman Dinu Patriciu." Boc did not offer further details.
Social democratic party vice president Victor Ponta said he doubts that Predoiu will achieve anything in justice, especially in an election year.
"If he comes with good intentions, then we will support him. If he comes with a mission, like Tudor Chiuariu did, then he will not receive any support from us ," Ponta said.
The conservatives said that it is the right of the premier to nominate someone for the position of justice minister and expressed hope that the president and the prime minister would reach common ground so that the Ministry of Justice might have a leader.
Conservative Party spokesman Bogdan Ciuca made these statements referring to Predoiu’s nomination.
The executive president of the Democratic Union of Magyars in Romania, Kelemen Hunor, said his party will support Predoiu’s nomination, but he, personally, would have preferred a political figure in this position.
