Romania’s Oct Net Salary Up 2.4% M-M To RON1.327

Romania's net average salary was up 2.4% on the month in October to 1.327 lei (EUR1=RON 3.8545), the National Institute for Statistics said Monday.

The net salary in October was up on the month due to the government ordinances on increasing salaries of public servants, education personnel, and employees in the sanitary sector as well as due to bonuses and higher production, the release reads.

Employees in airway transport sector saw the biggest average net salaries of RON3.229, while the hotels and restaurants personnel was at the opposite pole with RON764.

October net average salary in agriculture was up 4.6% on the month to RON930.

The employees in the tobacco manufacturing products saw a 0.2% salary drop on the month in October, at RON2.437.

Net salaries in the industrial field averaged RON1.225 in October, down 1.4% from September salary.

The average net salary in Romania rose 22.4% on year in October.
