Florin Georgescu was approved as first deputy governor, a position he currently fills in, while Cristian Popa and Bodgan Olteanu were voted deputy governors.

The central bank’s board will also include members Nicolae Danila, Napoleon Pop, Agnes Nagy, Dinu Marin and Virgil Stoenescu.

Isarescu’s adviser Lucian Croitoru, endorsed by the Democrat Liberals, as well as independent candidates Daniel Daianu and Silviu Cerna did not receive enough votes from the committees.

The votes are pending final approval in Parliament Wednesday, October 7.

The current term of the central bank’s board members expires October 10.
