„I would ask the Senate, as decision maker, to amend the law organizing the Government so that that this and any other interim Government can initiate draft laws targeting the state budget, the social security budget and the application of provisions included in international agreements concluded by Romania. Here we are speaking of two laws – the fiscal liability law and the unitary pension law, which we have postponed, the Parliament closed it, dismissed the Government, but we will file it again, so that we may observe the obligations taken on by Romania in connection with the European Commission and the IMF.”
He added he hopes „the Senate will understand”.
The draft law on the unitary pension system was pushed by the Government in Parliament, but the procedure was discontinued when the Government lost Parliament confidence.
