Romanian Govt Approves Final Form Of Legal Codes, Accepts 23 Amendments
A total 42 amendments were submitted for the Civil Code and eight amendments to the Criminal Code.
Several lawmakers, among whom, the minister for the relation with Parliament, Victor Ponta, social democrat deputy Eugen Nicolicea and democrat liberal deputy Sever Voinescu submitted several amendments to the draft Criminal and Civil Codes until Thursday, June 18.
Five amendments to the draft Criminal Code submitted by Nicolicea target bribery and influence peddling, while the 14 amendments to the draft Civil Code initiated by democrat liberal lawmaker Sever Voinescu Cotoi target, among others, the relinquishment of ownership, the requisition term and the matrimonial convention publicity.
Under the Constitution, the government can take responsibility in Parliament for a program, a general policy declaration or a draft law.
The government can be ousted if the Parliament adopts a no-confidence motion filed within three days upon presenting the respective program, general policy declaration or draft law.
