“For ACC producers and construction companies, this program can be a positive sign in economic re-launch if it applies only for new constructions, started in 2009,” the president of the ACC producers’ association Mihail Voiculescu told MEDIAFAX.

The program should allow the acquisition of dwellings built by construction companies, but also should finance the owner-builders, Voiculescu added.

An important issue to revive the economy and unblock the market is the whole payment of state debts to construction companies and indirectly to construction materials’ producers.

The ACC producers’ association includes the following construction materials producers: Celco Constanta, Macon Deva and Simcor Oradea, Soceram Bucuresti and Ecoblock Constanta.

The Romanian Government announced two weeks ago a program to guarantee the loans contracted for the purchase of the first home, within the maximum limit of EUR60,000, with the entire financing granted to this program reaching EUR1 billion.

The guarantee will be granted to the persons buying their first dwelling who did not previously benefit from a mortgage loan.
