Investments in new construction works accounted for 48.9% of the total in the first half of 2008, to RON15,88 billion, up 33.9% on the year, investments in equipment, including transport means accounted for 45.4% of the total, to RON14,73 billion, up 28.2% on the year, while other investments accounted for 5.7% of the total, to RON1,84 billion, up 46.8% on the year.
Most funds were invested in constructions, retail and wholesale trade, vehicle and personal goods maintenance, transport, storage and communications, public administration.
Investments in the industry sector accounted for 36.3% of total investments in the first half of 2008, while trade and services accounted for 28.3%, constructions for 20.5%, agriculture represented 4.8%, while other sectors accounted for 10.1% .
Romanian local net investments in the second quarter of 2008 rose 30%, or by RON6,47 billion, to RON20.07 billion, compared with the same period a year ago.
