The Municipal Hospital „Anton Cincu” in Tecuci will have modern equipment with the help of funding obtained by the Galați County Council through the Health Program. The funds will be used to equip the neurology office, the medical analysis laboratory and the imaging laboratory within the outpatient department of the Tecuci hospital with state-of-the-art equipment.
„After, in 2024, we managed to equip the Tecuci hospital with the first tomograph in the history of the medical unit, we manage to come up with a new major investment, which also includes an advanced magnetic resonance imaging system – 3 Tesla MRI. This equipment will significantly contribute to establishing a diagnosis and accurate treatment for a very wide range of conditions, a great advantage being that potential health problems can be discovered at an early stage, their evolution over time can be followed, and the chances of faster healing of patients, including in the case of serious illnesses, are much higher”, said Costel Fotea, president of the Galați County Council.
In addition to the 3 Tesla MRI machine, 53 more modern medical equipment will be added to the Tecuci Hospital. According to the information provided by the Galați City Council, these include, among others, „an automatic hematology analyzer with reticulocyte and ESR determination, a fully modular biochemistry and clinical immunology analyzer, an automatic digital cell morphology analyzer, an automatic coagulation (hemostasis) analyzer, an osteodensitometer (equipment for diagnosing osteoporosis), a line for preparing and pouring media into plates, a trinocular microscope, an automatic identification and antibiogram system, an electroencephalograph, an EMG device, an ECG, and an electronic medical imaging and diagnostic archiving system (PACS)”.
In addition, the Tecuci hospital will move to a new building. The works began last year. The investment worth almost 40 million euros is being carried out with money from the Galați City Council budget. The new Tecuci hospital will have over 10,000 square meters of floor space and 107 beds, of which 10 for the ICU department.
