Broken down by parties, ten democrat liberals obtain MEP seats: Theodor Stolojan, Monica Macovei, Traian Ungureanu, Cristian Preda, Marian-Jean Marinescu, Iosif Matula, Sebastian Valentin Bodu, Petru Luhan, Rareş Lucian Niculescu and Elena Oana Antonescu.
Based on redistribution results, democrat liberal Constantin Dumitriu could also obtain a seat in the European Parliament.
Provisional returns also show ten social democrats on the winners’ list: Adrian Severin, Rovana Plumb, Ioan-Mircea Paşcu, Silvia-Adriana Ticau, Daciana Sarbu, Corina Cretu, Victor Bostinaru, Sabin Cutas, Catalin-Sorin Ivan and Ioan Enciu.
Social democrat Vasilica-Viorica Dancila might win an MEP seat as well, provided the party gets eleven seats after final results.
Romanian liberals Norica Nicolai, Adina Valean, Renate Weber, Ramona Manescu and Cristian Busoi are seen as future MEPs as well.
The Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) will be represented in the European Parliament by Tőkés László, Winkler Iuliu, Sógor Csaba and Szilágyi Zsolt.
The ultra nationalist Greater Romania Party (PRM) will have two MEPs, namely party leader Corneliu Vadim Tudor and businessman Gheorghe Becali.
Independent candidate Elena Basescu managed to secure one seat as well.
