A Bucharest court in December 2007 obliged the lottery to pay the federation 20% of the money it collected for sporting bets involving football, according to Law 69/2000 on sports.

The lottery paid the federation some of the money owed for the interval 2003-2005, but the federation had still to receive some RON18 million, for which it sued the lottery in May 2006.

Although the decision may be appealed with a higher court, foreclosure is mandatory.

Lawyer Antonie Popescu told MEDIAFAX the sum was transferred to the federation from the lottery’s accounts.
