The bureau said 147,754 Romanians voted in Sunday’s presidential election in the 294 polling stations set up abroad. Of the votes, 861 were null.
Preliminary results released Monday by the Central Electoral Bureau after counts in 99.13% of polling stations showed tables have turned in Romania’s presidential election as the vote count credits Basescu with 50.37% and Geoana with 49.62%.
Three of four exit-polls released Sunday evening after polls closed put Geoana in the lead.
