Most bank units in Romania will be closed on December 25 and 26, and on January 1-3, 2009, and only those located in shopping centers will be open and function on a special schedule.

The majority of units of Alpha Bank, Banca Comerciala Carpatica, Banca Transilvania, BCR, BRD – Groupe Societe Generale, CEC Bank, ING, Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, OTP Bank and Raiffeisen will be closed on December 25 and 26, and between January 1 and 3, 2009.

The units Alpha Point Feeria in Bucharest and Alpha Point Maramuresul in Baia Mare, northern Romania, will be open on December 25, 26 and January 1 and 2 depending on the schedule of the commercial center.

The units of BRD – Groupe Societe Generale located in Henri Coanda airport and the large commercial centers in the country (in Carrefour, Kaufland, Cora, Auchan, Jolie Ville, Euromall, Baneasa Shopping City, etc) will have a special program on December 26, 2008 and January 2, 2009.

Raiffeisen Bank units located in hypermarkets (Cora, Carrefour and Selgros) and in malls will be open and function on a special schedule.

Bank units which are open on Saturday will be open on December 27 and function on the regular schedule, except for Alpha Bank and BCR, which will be closed.

OTP Bank decided to have the units located in malls and the units Lotus in Oradea, Polus in Cluj and Selimbar in Sibiu work on Saturday and Sunday (on December 27 and 28, 2008, and on January 3 and 4, 2009).

CEC Bank units will be open on December 27 only in the locations Victoria, Sala Palatului, Alexandru Obregia, Timpuri Noi and Perla, between 9:30-12:45, local time.

On December 31, BCR, Alpha Bank and CEC Bank units will work on shorter schedule until 12:30, 13:00 and 14:00 respectively.

The units of Intesa Sanpaolo Bank and OTP Bank will work on regular hours in the last day of 2008.
